The hysteria of outsourcing American jobs to India
and other countries is creating whirlpool in the
minds of Americans, who are left with no rational thinking power.
The simple fact is that the nature of American job
has changed which has pressurised most of the American
companies to outsource their job to other countries.
Though America is into a 2 ½ year economic
expansion, there are about two million people short
of jobs. The conventionally accepted culprit in America's job
problem is off-shoring, the traitorous practice
in which ravenous U.S. employers fire blameless Americans
and hire foreigners all of whom seem to live in Bangalore who
happily accept the same work for a lot less money.
But the controversy of off-shoring is not a new
issue, it has been happening forever and will continue.
One of the main factors is, the 0% interest rate which has given
the companies a strong impulse in 40 years to buy
labour saving capital equipment instead of hiring
new workers. The other major factor causing discord is that,
initially off-shoring was done mainly to the factory
workers or the lower level of workers, but this
time the effected people are the higher level workers with higher
education. This has given birth to a group of latent
victims, who happen to be more likely to vote, give money
to political candidates and write letters to the editor and
who can influence the political leaders.
The sight of managerial position and jobs requiring
graduate degrees being shipped abroad has sparked
a sinking feeling in many stomachs, caused by fear that America
is losing something essential to its role in the world. There
is a difference between doing the work and running
the show. The Americans have been running the world's
economic show for 60 years, and if the Indians and Chinese are
gaining their skill on how to run the show then
it is a major concern for the U.S. Some of the state legislatures
are considering bills to stop the states from doing business
with companies which have off-shored jobs or to
penalise the companies for the off-shoring process.
This issue will grow intensely between now and November that
is during the election campaigning period.
The major cause for America's
economic condition to slide down is the poor education
system, an absurdly abusive litigation industry, ill conceived
taxes and lousy productivity. America's dominance
over the world will end very soon and it will not
take too long for the transition of China as the hyper power
and the world's largest economic country.
